December 2, 2020
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
What’s your New Year’s Eve Resolution? Internationally acclaimed jazz composer and trumpeter, Dominick Farinacci, celebrates renewed hope for the year to come.
Dominick Farinacci invites you to join him for his live-streamed Resolutions, A Swingin’ New Year’s Eve Concert. The show features a roster of iconic Cleveland jazz artists including vocalist Evelyn Wright and pianist Joe Hunter, performing American Songbook classics by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, and effervescent New Year’s Eve tunes. Resolutions will be presented twice on December 31, 2020, at 7:30pm and 10:30pm (EST). Tickets and viewing information can be found at SongbookWatchParty.com.
The concert celebrates the power that resolutions have to propel us into the upcoming year with a renewed sense of hope. “Rather than looking backward with the typical year-end review, I wanted to find a way to acknowledge this precarious moment in our lives and create a musical experience that looks forward,” Farinacci notes. In March 2020, Farinacci adapted to online streaming of music and video as a way to keep musicians around the world engaged with their audiences during the shutdown. “I am proud to be live-streaming this fun and interactive New Year’s Eve concert from my hometown favorite jazz club, Nighttown. I want to present an event that brings the Nighttown bandstand directly into your living room for the night.”
December 31, 2020 marks Farinacci’s 19th year making music on New Year’s Eve at Nighttown. The owner of Nighttown, Brendan Ring, notes, “In this unprecedented time in the lives of all the musicians whose world has been upended, we are committed to keeping alive the tradition of our New Year’s Eve concerts.” This year is Nighttown’s 50th anniversary, however, the concert venue is currently on hiatus to protect the health and safety of its audience. Brendan goes on to say, “Please support Dominick Farinacci and Nighttown so we can all collectively say farewell to this terrible year and look forward to a much brighter year ahead.” The concert will be performed without a live audience, employing socially distanced staging, personal protective gear, and safety protocols in place to help protect the staff, crew, and musicians.
Viewers can choose from a variety of different streaming passes, including individual, family, VIP Full Party Pass, and a special Virtual Host Sponsorship. Resolutions also offers interactive elements to the concert experience, including the option to request songs, VIP party gifts to enjoy during the performance, and behind the scenes programming. All audience members will also have the opportunity to share their resolutions with Dominick prior to the concert to be woven into the evening’s patter and song choices.
Bandleader Farinacci has lined up a versatile and exciting group of musicians for Resolutions. The sextet unites three generations of Cleveland jazz artists:
- Dominick Farinacci, trumpet / bandleader
- Evelyn Wright, vocal
- Joe Hunter, piano
- Peter Dominguez, bass
- Jim Rupp, drums
- Thomas Schinabeck, alto saxophone
The live-streamed concert is an exclusive ticketed event and live-streaming passes must be purchased in advance to participate and view. The concert will be presented on the SongBookWatchParty.com website and can be displayed on mobile phones, tablets, and cast to your television or other display devices with Airplay, Chromecast, or other video sharing systems. This concert is not on Zoom and does not require live interaction or video sharing.
